About Forest Floor Therapy

Lorin Kroeger LPCC, LPC

Forest Floor Therapy is a neurodivergent and identity affirming therapy practice for adults in Minnesota and Oregon navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions. At a time when the weight of the world is so heavy, the Forest Floor offers us a space of stillness to slow down, take deep breaths, be seen, feel heard, and reconnect. I am also trained in WPATH Standards of Care and comfortable writing letters of support for those seeking identity affirming medical care.

I’m active and engaged in sessions. You can expect warmth, curiosity, and honesty, not just a blank stare or a clipboard between us. Sometimes therapy here looks like slowing down and grounding. Sometimes it looks like learning new skills. Sometimes it looks like gently challenging old beliefs that no longer serve you. There’s room for humor, swearing, pauses, and figuring things out in real time.

The Therapeutic Approach

I use an integrated approach to therapy rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while also working relationally and somatically. That means we focus on both insight and skills, what’s happening in your thoughts, emotions, body, and relationships.

We May Be a Good Fit If:

  • You are an adult seeking neurodivergent- and queer-affirming care.
  • You identify with ADHD, autism, chronic anxiety, burnout, or nervous system overwhelm.
  • You feel exhausted from trying to function in systems that were not designed for you, and feel like you are failing often even when trying your hardest.
  • You want therapy that balances insight with practical, nervous-system–informed skills and are interested in ACT- and DBT-informed work, along with relational and somatic approaches.
  • You value collaboration, honesty, and a therapist who is active and engaged in sessions.
  • You are open to slowing down, building awareness, and gently challenging patterns that no longer serve you.

We May Not Be a Good Fit If:

  • You prefer a strictly clinical or distant therapeutic style.
  • You are looking for therapy focused primarily on children, couples, or family systems.
  • Your current symptoms need intensive, higher-level care such as inpatient treatment, residential care, or frequent crisis intervention.
  • You are not currently able or willing to engage collaboratively in the therapeutic process.

I am currently in-network with the following plans:

  • Quest Behavioral Health (MN and OR)
  • Aetna (MN and OR)
  • Horizon BCBS of New Jersey (MN and OR)
  • Independence BC Pennsylvania (MN and OR)
  • Regence BCBS of Oregon (OR only)

I practice out of a cozy office in Saint Louis Park, MN, just off of major bus and transit lines. The building features a large free parking lot, with accessible spaces, and a ramped entrance. My office is on the third floor, which can be accessed by elevator or stairs. Once on the third floor, you will have access to a shared waiting room with chairs and couches and at your appointment time I will come get you and bring you back to the office. While you wait you can access the gender neutral bathroom and water bottle filling station offered in the hallway. In my office you can expect an intentional sensory environment which includes soft lighting options, coffee, tea, and snacks, a HEPA air purifier, and other therapy supporting tools such as fidget tools, books, biofeedback stones, and other items intended to make the space feel safe and comfortable.
